Alien World

I'm not sure how great I'm going to be at blogging on this trip. I'm so worn out at the end of the day! This morning we were woken up around 5 by a bird noise that sounded pretty painful. The little bugger was just happy to see the sun, but I could have done without his squawking. We decided to take just a few shorter hikes today and then drive the Badlands Loop that goes through a significant portion of the park. It allows you to see many of the different rock formations as well as a ton of animals. Of course, we were dying to visit the prairie dog town because that is where they've relocated the black-footed ferrets. We didn't see any, so Doug took it out on the prairie dogs - see below posts for more on those shenanigans.

... Speaking of shenanigans... I almost vomited when Doug skipped out to this little precipice. Then he started waving his arms around and I could barely take the picture. There was a lot of scolding about husbands dying on honeymoons.

Here he is trying to make up with me.

Tomorrow we're getting up REALLY early to see the sunrise, so that bird won't get the best of me. We're also doing a much longer hike through the interior of the park. I'm looking forward to it, and some good sleep tonight.
