Lower Falls

This was an unexpected hike. Since it started snowing yesterday we thought we'd take it easy and drive around a little. We didn't know when we got out of the car that it was going to be a half mile hike down some pretty steep switchbacks. Little old ladies appeared to be doing it! The reward at the "bottom" was pretty spectacular. We were at the brink of the Lower Falls, which are taller than Niagra Falls. Doug used the Fujifilm for these, as there was nothing in the world that could get me to stick my hand over the edge with the Pentax. In fact, I could hardly look over the edge. I am such a baby.

Because of the bad weather, and the emergence of my inner princess we've been staying at a motel in West Yellowstone for the last few nights. We got to the campsite and I burst into tears when I saw that it was in a marshy area with tons of mosquitoes. I will also note that the temperature was dropping rapidly and it was raining... We'll be back to camping soon. Don't worry, I won't be like this the whole trip. An unfortunate side effect of the move to the motel is that there is only wifi in the lobby, so I'll have to be brief tonight. I have a few more pictures I'd like to share from Yellowstone, but I'll try to do that before we leave Wyoming/Montana.
